چکیده
In this paper, we present a rapid boundary stabilization of Timoshenko beam with anti-damping and anti-stiffness at the uncontrolled boundary, by using PDE backstepping. We introduce transformation to map states into (2+2) × hyperbolic PIDE-ODE system. Then backstepping is applied obtain control law guaranteeing closed-loop stability origin in H1 sense. Arbitrarily can be achieved adjusting parameters. Finally, numerical simulation shows that proposed controller rapidly stabilize beam. This result extends previous work which considered slender Kelvin-Voigt damping, allowing destabilizing conditions attaining an arbitrarily convergence rate.

Exponential Decay of Timoshenko Systems with Indefinite Memory Dissipation
We study the asymptotic behavior of Timoshenko systems with memory, where the memory is given by a non-dissipative kernel and is acting only on one equation of the system. We show that the exponential stability depends on conditions regarding the decay rate of the kernel and a nice relationship between the coefficients of the system. Moreover, with full-memory effect in the system, we will show...
متن کاملStabilization and Observability of a Rotating Timoshenko Beam Model
A control system describing the dynamics of a rotating Timoshenko beam is considered. We assume that the beam is driven by a control torque at one of its ends, and the other end carries a rigid body as a load. The model considered takes into account the longitudinal, vertical, and shear motions of the beam. For this distributed parameter system, we construct a family of Galerkin approximations ...
متن کاملGlobal Existence and Exponential Decay for a Dynamic Contact Problem of Thermoelastic Timoshenko Beam with Second Sound
In this paper, we study the global existence and exponential decay for a dynamic contact problem between a Timoshenko beam with second sound and two rigid obstacles, of which the heat flux is given by Cattaneo’s law instead of the usual Fourier’s law. The main difficulties arise from the irregular boundary terms, from the low regularity of the weak solution and from the weaker dissipative effec...

It is known that the kinematic model of several nonholonomic systems can be converted into a chained form control system. Asymptotical stabilization of any equilibrium point of this system cannot be achieved by means of a continuous pure state feedback, but can be obtained by using a time-varying continuous feedback 20]. In the present paper, a backstepping technique is used to derive explicit ...
متن کاملA Dynamic Replication Strategy based on Exponential Growth/Decay Rate
Data Grid is an infrastructure that manages huge amount of data files, and provides intensive computational resources across geographically distributed collaboration. To increase resource availability and to ease resource sharing in such environment, there is a need for replication services. Data replication is one of the methods used to improve the performance of data access in distributed sys...
